Puppy Love
They opened my cage.
I whimpered .
I don’t want to go.
My claws scraped across the floor.
“It’s okay. We’ll look after you.”
Outside small hands hold me tight.
A face buried in my fur.
“Take care of her.”
“I will.”
Gentle caresses. 
So this is love.
I’m home!
